Fabulous at 50

Mäklarhust is a well-established real estate agency in Sweden and Spain, boasting a presence of over 110 local offices. With a history spanning more than 50 years, they have built an unwavering reputation in the industry for honesty, transparency, and innovation. And while consistency can be a good thing – their brand image, for instance, had been unchanged for a decade – it was important for Mäklarhuset to keep pace with the fast-moving nature of the market. They worked with Stockholm-based brand agency OKTO to craft a future-proof new identity, one that champions the high standard of service that they’re known for.

Bit by bit

When OpenAI decided to host its very first DevDay – a one-day conference for hundreds of developers from around the globe – it began looking for an identity that would capture not just the forward-looking spirit of the company, but also this new venture that creates a space for a diverse pool of talent to meet and exchange ideas. San Francisco-based design studio Play, working alongside OpenAI’s Design team, took on the challenge and delivered a brand for the conference that feels both fresh and fitting, but in order to do so, they had to take a step back and look at the bigger picture for a starting point.

A ‘limitless’ identity

London-based Fold7Design has created a limitless identity for Near, a pioneering Blockchain Operating System. Near stands out as an infinitely scalable blockchain and an ecosystem for various applications. The new visual identity, inspired by the theme ‘Show the Way,’ features an infinite canvas made up of grid points derived from their infinity ‘N’ symbol, that represents the brand’s scalability and creativity.

Forget your tax woes

Since its establishment in 2017, tax return app Taxfix has gone from strength to strength, with an increased market presence and reputation as an industry leader. The primary challenge for global design studio Kallan & Co, who were invited to tackle the rebrand, was to establish Taxfix as an ambitious leader and create a brand that effectively communicates its mission to both existing and potential customers and employees, and in the process, to expand Taxfix’s user-friendly financial tools beyond taxes, and to become a reliable companion through various stages of the customer’s financial journey.

A long-time collaborator of The Brand Identity, Studio Ground Floor – led by Co-founders Alice Sherwin and Bennett – have designed many of our in-house publications to date, including the first edition of The Interviews, through which the duo set the tone and structure for our archival series of books which document our conversations with a global legion of studios, designers and foundries.

THE MOCKUPS is no more

Whether you’re looking for mockups, templates, assets, books, posters or something else entirely, finding well-made, aesthetically pleasing products as a graphic designer can be surprisingly challenging. You either have to scroll through hundreds of average ones to find what you’re looking for, or somehow discover, remember and locate all of the different brands independently. ‘Curated marketplaces’ are no longer curated, and there are so many brands out there it’s hard to know where to start. We’ve experienced this problem first-hand many times, and it would be fair to say we have been working towards solving it for quite some time!

This begins with the official launch of The Brand Identity Store, marking its transition from a bookshop to a global, curated destination for everything you need as a graphic designer, without the hassle. For many years, we’ve been bringing you the very best insights and inspiration, and more recently the very best jobs, and now, we are excited to become the home of the very best mockups, templates, assets, books, posters, objects and apparel from around the world.

We start with the announcement that THE MOCKUPS, our sister brand that many of you know and use, has become part of The Brand Identity Store. These mockups are now available under our own name, putting to rest THE MOCKUPS as a brand and website of its own (RIP 2019-2023)! This is part of our wider ambition to unite all of our resources together in one place in a trifecta of content, products and jobs. As part of this change, we have refined our collection of mockups down from over 300 to 175, keeping only the most relevant and most beautiful.
