Finger licking good

If you’re based in the US and have been looking for Korean pantry staples to amp up your meals, look no further than Potluck. Founded by Jen Arsenault, who spent years sifting through store shelves for delicious staples like the ones handmade by her mother’s family in South Korea, Potluck has launched with two countertop essentials – Gochujang, a spicy, savoury and sweet cooking paste, and Ssamjang, a concentrated, no-cook, stir-together sauce. Each of Potluck’s products is made in small batches in South Korea using traditional methods with cotton cloths, ceramic pots and iron cauldrons. This handmade, artisanal quality of the brand shines through in its identity by Boston-based design studio Regrets Only.

Framing the narrative

London-based digital design agency Together, known for creating branding and web experiences for prominent SaaS startups, has crafted a brand identity and digital experience for Rogo, an innovative AI custom-built for finance. “Anyone who’s ever worked with financial information services knows how opaque that world can be,” says Creative Director Ben Wynn-Owen. “Rogo aims to offer an alternative that cuts through the noise.” The new brand aims to highlight this point of difference, positioning Rogo as a strategic ally for finance professionals.

Bat Trang Museum

Bat Trang village in Vietnam is the proud host of the first private museum authorised by the government – the Bat Trang Museum. This institution, lovingly established by national artist Vu Duc Thang, is a testament to his extraordinary legacy and the history of Bat Trang’s pottery. Known originally as ‘Hon Dat Viet’ or ‘Viet’s Ceramic Soul,’ it encapsulates Thang’s unparalleled artistic journey. The design system for the museum – developed by the team at Saigon-based branding studio M — N Associates, including Duy Nguyen, Anh Nguyen, Quan Nguyen, Bao Truong, Phuc Tran and Duc Ngo – echoes Thang’s artistic process and his unique techniques of colour-changing ceramic glaze and three-dimensional sculpting.

Ever-changing

Anything that was destined for the bin is used as a springboard of inspiration at RE, a cocktail bar in Sydney, that turns produce diverted from landfills into the most delicious drinks. This idea of turning waste into gold steers everything, which also means that the bar always needs to stay on its toes. The menu changes based on seasonal produce and what comes their way, “so they’re constantly reinventing the wheel when it comes to the cocktails they’re making and figuring out production,” says Adam Vella, Partner & Creative Director at Standard Projects, a Melbourne and Sydney-based design agency that was trusted to imagine the bar’s identity. The team’s solution is clever – a dynamic, ever-changing logo that sings of the way the bar embraces spontaneity, working with unexpected produce.

The Isle of Wight

Thump Studio, a multi-disciplinary brand and design studio based on the Isle of Wight, has created an energetic and resonant identity and visual language for Connected Wight, a web portal that connects various aspects of life on the Isle of Wight, an island off the south coast of England. “We were approached by the four founders of Connected Wight – Brian Marriott, Simon Dover, Stephen Izatt and Barnaby Edwards, each with an admirable background in the creative industry,” explains Creative Director Samuel Tinson-Wood. They expressed a desire to work with not only designers based on the Isle of Wight, but with a team that has a fresh and youthful perspective and a passion for the island. “Being asked to develop and create an identity that promotes our island, our home, felt intimidating but also extremely cathartic,” he adds. “As huge advocates for the Isle of Wight, this wasn’t an opportunity we took lightly; we were excited to introduce an identity that truly represents our beautiful island for all that she is.”

We’re in love with Framer, and if you aren’t already, you probably should be too. Why? Well, the no-code web design tool – with its Figma-like interface – makes it easy to create world-class websites in a matter of minutes. And if that isn’t enough, there are hundreds of designers cooking up ready-to-use templates for just about any purpose. We’ve already been partnering with the best of them to bring their designs to the TBI Store, but after another deep dive around the web, we’re back with even more. 18 to be exact. How to Think More Effectively

The School of Life discuss how to grasp fragile and flighty thoughts before they disappear through anxiety and fear; at what times of day to try to work and for how long; how to make use of boredom, and how to overcome timid and predictable approaches to the largest problems. The result is an operating manual to that most wondrous, though intermittent and always baffling, organ: the human mind.
