An angular identity

Located in Lithuania’s capital, the Mo Museum of Modern Art has always had the ambition to drive shifts within society, challenging norms and encouraging fresh thinking by engaging with complex themes like intimacy, mental health, and LGBTQ+ issues. As Sons & Daughters ID’s Design Director Justina Ciacyte summarises, “It actively challenges public perceptions and reshapes the idea of what an art museum can be.”

Just as the museum has transformed – from one of Lithuania’s largest private art collections to a dynamic cultural centre – so has its visual identity, reimagined by design agency Sons & Daughters ID, and founded on the concept of ‘shifts.’

Perspective play

For 17 years, DesignMarch has been Iceland’s premier celebration of design and architecture, transforming Reykjavík into a creative playground. The spring of 2025 marked a significant milestone for the festival, as Reykjavík-based creative agency Strik Studio unveiled a fresh identity that captures the event’s vibrant, multifaceted nature. The festival’s approach to its identity has always embraced evolution, with new creative teams invited every few years to reinterpret its image. “We were honoured to receive the torch this year,” explains Creative Director Snorri Eldjárn. “The project was twofold: we were asked to create a flexible, future-proof brand book while also designing an identity that could speak directly to this year’s theme, Source.”

Typeface

NaN SuperX

When Berlin-based foundry NaN set out to create SuperX, they had their sights set on reviving a particular aesthetic from typography’s past whilst serving the practical needs of today’s designers. The result is a system that pays homage to the phototyping era’s characteristically oversized x-heights, delivered through a serif and sans pairing designed specifically for making headlines work harder in tighter spaces.

New Apology

A collaborative, intuitive creative process lies at the heart of everything that New Apology does. The design studio treats their process as king, approaching it with a sense of honesty and openness each time they take on a new project. Their style-agnostic approach – which instead focuses on decoding exactly who a client is and what they want to say, and then expressing that through design – has come to define their body of work. This process is not something that they’re trying to shroud in a sense of mystery. In fact, in an attempt to open it up and give clients and the world a real look at the inner workings of the studio, New Apology has launched a redesigned website that feels more like a home than a portfolio.
